Best time to visit Tel Aviv: weather by month

On the Mediterranean coast, Tel Aviv has hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Using NASA POWER data for 2014–2023, average daily highs rise from 16 °C in January to 35 °C in August, and the city receives about 508 mm of rain a year, almost all of it between October and April. The city sits about 19 m above sea level, and Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is about 13 km away.

Spring is a comfortable time for sightseeing: highs reach 20 °C in March, 25 °C in April and 29 °C in May, while rain drops from about 51 mm in March to 7 mm in May. It is a good season for the beaches, Bauhaus walks and markets before the summer heat.

Summer is hot and almost rainless. June averages highs of 32 °C, July 34 °C and August 35 °C, the warmest and driest month, and average lows stay at 22–23 °C in July and August. Plan outdoor sightseeing for mornings and evenings, carry water and use sun protection.

Autumn cools slowly: September still averages 33 °C, October 30 °C and November 24 °C, and the first rains return in October (about 16 mm). Winter is mild but wet: December is the wettest month with about 133 mm, January averages highs of 16 °C and lows of 8 °C, and February 18 °C, so pack a light jacket and an umbrella.
